      What is a Standard?
Basically, a breed standard is a word description of what the ideal cat of a certain breed looks like. It is an attept to describe the perfect model that breeders use in their efforts to breed better cats.

Cat show judges use the standard as a guide to evaluate cats at the shows. Each cat is judged by the standard which describes the perfect cat to the judge.

You can find a copy of the TICA standard for your breed of cat by visiting the link below, "What is a Breed Standard"
