Cinnamon is a color that occurs rarely in the Bengal breed. This recessive is believed to originate from the early crossings used to create the Bengal breed... the Abyssinian, the Ocicat, and
even possibly the domestic shorthairs that were used carried this coloring recessively. As with any recessive, both parents must carry the recessive for it to appear in a litter. Littermates can be of Standard conforming colors as well.
The cinnamon coloring can manifest itself in either the marbled or spotted pattern.
As you can see from the photo of this marbled Cinnamon kitten, her tail tip is not black as the Bengal standard requires - her paw pads are also not black but rather a rosey coloring.
The color Cinnamon is not accepted for Championship status with the International Cat Association (TICA) as it is an unrecognized color but, you can see that they are still a beautiful cat. The personality of the cinnamon Bengal is of course the same as well as the structure type.
Cinnamon Bengals are sold into non breeder, non show homes as pets.
