They are a beautiful cat and are sold into non show, non breeder homes as pets.
The Blue Bengal although not accepted for Championship status with TICA, The International Cat Association, is a very unique and beautiful cat. They have the same "Bengal" personality, friendly, curious, playful and many do have an affinity towards water just as Chase (the adult male pictured here) does.
Often times the blue Bengal will have some rufousing to the coat. Blue Bengals should still fit the standard as far as the build of the cat goes and the temperament.
The Blue coloring is a recessive gene that must be carried by both parents in order to surface in a litter. You can see from this photo, that a blue Bengal can be born to a traditional Brown Spotted mother and have standard colored (recognized by the breed standard) littermates. The blue Bengal will have a blue/grey tail tip.
Blue is not a color that breeders desire to further the breed but, on occasion a striking blue Bengal appears in a litter to the fortune of a very happy pet purchaser.
You can see from these pictures, that Chase is a beautiful Bengal with wonderful whisker pads, and wonderful length to his body. He has rosettes too!
